Classic highland blanco — agave sweetness, black pepper, brine, citrus zest, and a delicate floral note. The palate is full-bodied with cooked agave, mineral, black pepper, and a long, slightly smoky finish from the traditional production methods. Bottled at 40% ABV. Tapatio is produced at La Alteña Distillery (NOM 1139) in Arandas, Jalisco by Carlos Camarena — the same facility that produces El Tesoro. Uses traditional tahona extraction, brick ovens, open-air fermentation with agave fibers, and copper pot stills. Tapatio is considered one of the foundational "Traditional" tequilas — a benchmark for additive-free, high-quality production at an accessible price.
