At 57% ABV the aromatics are amplified, with intense juniper resin, pine bark, and wild berries hitting the nose first, followed by black pepper and earthy heather. Water opens the palate considerably: lingonberry, citrus oil, and dried herbs with a long warming finish.
The same 26-botanical Norwegian recipe as the standard Bareksten, pushed to Navy Strength at 57% ABV, the historic minimum proof at which gunpowder would still ignite if the spirit was spilled on it. Distilled at Skur 7 in Bergen, designed to hold its character when diluted in cocktails or paired with a full-flavored tonic. Botanicals include wild Norwegian cloudberry, lingonberry, and heather.
