Pine resin and fresh citrus lead the nose, underpinned by lingonberry and a cool, clean minerality. The palate is structured and herbaceous, with juniper forward and green nettle, wild thyme, and a faint sweetness from Norwegian cloudberry on the finish.
Bareksten is produced at Skur 7 distillery in Bergen, Norway, using 26 botanicals sourced from Norwegian forests and landscapes. Master distiller Stig Bareksten designed the recipe around Nordic terroir, an intentional contrast to the Mediterranean botanical palettes of most contemporary gins. Distilled in a copper pot still with each botanical batch macerated for 24 hours before distillation.
