Grassy, citrusy, and green on the nose with baking spice, roasted agave, and a whisper of briny minerality. The palate opens with salted butterscotch and charred pineapple, moving into ancho chili, cacao, and cracked black pepper. A thick, viscous mouthfeel with a long, slightly smoky finish. Bottled at 106 proof (53% ABV). Puntas are a coveted cut taken at the end of the heads and beginning of the hearts — historically reserved by distillers for personal consumption. This second Tequila Ocho Puntas release is sourced from Rancho Mesa Colorada, whose red soils at high elevation yield particularly ripe agave. Distilled at 128 proof then diluted to 106 with deep well water. Only a small allocation is released. Certified additive-free by Tequila Matchmaker. Produced at NOM 1474 by the Camarena family.
