Honjozo classification, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Tensei ("reincarnation") is the label of Kumazawa Shuzo, a brewery founded in 1872 in Chigasaki, Kanagawa — unusually close to the coast by sake standards, and that maritime proximity is not incidental to the style. Honjozo is a classification that permits a small addition of distilled alcohol, not to bulk the sake out but to lift aromatics and sharpen the finish — in skilled hands it produces a cleaner, more precise style than undistilled junmai. "Infinite Summer" is Tensei's most approachable and evocative expression: light, refreshing, and built around the brewery's coastal identity. Expect fresh melon, white peach, a subtle floral lift, and a clean, slightly briny finish that echoes the sea air of Chigasaki. The texture is lean and lively rather than rich or creamy — this is sake designed for drinking cold, at the table, with food. It bridges the gap between wine-drinkers and sake beautifully, making it one of the most effective crossover bottles you can have on the floor. For the customer who is sake-curious but doesn't know where to start — this is the one.
