It’s this volcanic origin and the violence of the terrior that gives Madeira its shapes with all its steep lands and sharp cliffs but most of all its unique soil that would forever alter all cultures produced in the island. The wine has an average age of five years, leading to an inviting, nutty, slightly toasty nose, with flavors of grapefruit, lime, hazelnuts, and orange peel. The high acidity makes the wine taste dry on the palate, with a smooth, long, and memorable finish.
