This 2019 red blend is mostly 93% Carignan from a 70-year-old plot situated high on the slopes above Anderson Valley (2,400 ft. elevation). The remaining fruit is the little known Valdigue varietal from a nearby plot of 75-year-old vines. The wine is fermented with 100% whole clusters and put up in neutral oak for 11 months. The 2019 Lioco Sativa Carignan offers aromas of pine, crushed quartz, and mission fig. Flavors of fresh thyme, black raspberry, and lavender.
