Weissburgunder Ried Gaisberg is a very mineralic wine, with the taste of yellow apple and pear, a touch of citrus zest in the background. Concentrated and sweetly extracted with a silky texture wrapped around a fine spine of acid. Still plenty of ageing potential. The Gaisberg is considered as one of the best sites of the entire Kamptal region. Weathered soils and crystalline rocks with a layer of brown earth dominate the south-east facing part of the Gaisberg. In the upper part you find mica weathered soils, which are best for Riesling as well as for Weissburgunder. The lower eastern area with sandy loess deposits is better suited for the Grüner Veltliner.
