Pale lemon with a silver rim. Tarragon and white peach lead, followed by ripe pear, citrus blossom, and a faint flinty edge. The palate is medium-bodied with real weight through the middle, which comes from long lees contact and full malolactic.Eyrie pioneered Pinot Gris in the New World, and the New World’s oldest vines go into this cuvée. David Lett planted them in the Dundee Hills in the 1960s. His Pinot Noir later beat Burgundy at the 1979 Gault-Millau tasting in Paris, a result that led the Drouhin family to buy land a few miles away.
