The 2022 Fixin Les Clos has an expressive bouquet of perfumed cranberry and Morello cherry fruit laced with rose petals and crushed stone. Very seductive. The palate is medium-bodied with a satin texture, very well-pitched acidity and a caressing, persistent finish. Arnelie Berthaut said that once upon a time, she didn't like this vineyard, but after working and improving the vines, she likes the wines more and more! Les Clos is 1.3 hectares in size, situated on top of six faults that create a wild array of bedrock and soils. Vines were first planted in 1933, some replanting up to 2005. Some whole clusters are retained, and fermented in concrete with gentle pump-overs and few punch-downs. Aged in 20% new oak.
