Deep but fresh, with aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, dark chocolate, fine spices, and cedar. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate with chalky, integrated tannins and a finish that holds without fading. The balance is impeccable — this is what Ribera del Duero looks like at the top of its class.
Alion was created in 1991 as a separate project within Vega Sicilia, applying a distinctly modern winemaking approach — 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), shorter maceration, and aging in new French oak — rather than the extended aging that defines Unico. The result is a wine that reaches approachability faster without sacrificing the precision that defines the Vega Sicilia name.
