G.D. Vajra is one of the most legendary producers in Piedmont, Italy. The "rosso" is their entry-level blend meant to be enjoyed young, on a weeknight, with good food, family, and friends. It doesn't need the same kind of aging that their more prestigious Barolo wines do. The rosso is a balanced introduction to all of the great grapes of Piedmont: Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto. This wine is medium-bodied and red-fruited with savory notes of underbrush and a slight French barnyard funk.
