2020 iLauri “Salto” Sangiovese Abruzzo, Italy

Proving there's more to Abruzzo than Montepulciano, here's a fresh, vibrant, easy-drinking all-purpose Sangiovese at a terrific value price. You'll find plenty of classic Sangiovese dark cherry/berry fruit and tangy, fresh, acidity. What's surprising is how velvety, spiced and chocolaty this is at just 12.5% alcohol and with no oak at all. Certainly a fine pizza/pasta red, but with the guts and suppleness to shine with burgers or even solo at a weekend party.
