Fruity and caramel laced, with vanilla and citrus notes of lemon peel, passion fruit, banana, and coconut, then dried fruit, guava, and a hint of rose, finishing on black tea, pepper, and dry orange peel.
Mauritius 2013 is Number 3 limited edition of just nineteen casks distilled in 2013 from molasses on a column still, then aged nine years in 200 liter bourbon casks in Mauritius and two more years in 350 liter Ferrand cognac casks in France, a double aging style that master blender Alexandre Gabriel pioneered. Bottled with no added caramel and only a trace of dosage, it comes from the brand formerly known as Plantation.
