Cahors wines are made from the indigenous grape Cot, which is far better known by its international name Malbec. A very hot region of Southwest France, the grapes take on a deep purplish hue and dense structure. This example is a deeply colored, generous wine with ripe tannins and ample body. Flavors of cassis, blackberry, truffles, dark chocolate and spice make it a great expression of the unique and venerable Cahors appellation.
